Alfred Cumberpatch was born in 1884 in Northampton, Northamptonshire, England. He was the son of Thomas Cumberpatch and his wife Hannah nee Ellard. Alfred worked in the shoe manufacturing industry and then in the coal industry before joining the army as Gunner 63710 in the Royal Garrison Artillery. Alfred CUMBERPATCH of 24 Crispin-street Northampton died 3 January 1921 and administration of his estate was grated at Northampton on 22 January 1921 to his brother Arthur CUMBERPATCH a coal dealer. His effects totalled £1,084 18s 0d.
